Overview

Video asset.png Use this Inspector to add a video to your screen. First of all upload the video to the project by clicking the upload files button at the top right of the editor. In addition to the video file itself (in MP4 / H.264 format) you can also upload a thumbnail image in .PNG format. This will be shown on the screen until the learner taps or clicks on it, at which point the video itself will be played.

Once the files have been uploaded, type in the video filename or click the Browse for A/.V files button to the right of the Video filename box to browse for it in the uploaded assets. Do the same for the thumbnail file.

If you want to preview the video, click the Play current file button underneath the video filename field to view it in the video player.

If you are publishing your course for a desktop web browser, you can enter text into the Image description box which will appear when the learner hovers the mouse over the video thumbnail. It will also be used by screen readers.

The text in the Video transcript box will be shown when the course is published as HTML for a desktop browser and the learner clicks the ‘transcript’ button on the video player.

The video will display either in a pop up panel overlayed on the main screen or in a video player within the main screen, depending on which Playback style option is chosen.

Notes can be added to the Brief box to let other people working on developing the course know what the video should convey. It will not be seen by the learner.
